Exploring Thonburi & China Town on bicycle
"Exploring Thonburi & China Town on bicycle"
Cycle trip is a fascinating glimpse into the Bangkok of old. Popular landmarks: Chinatown, Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn), and the Royal Barge Museum, but we also goes off the beaten path and show you some lesser known sites that are not on the tourist map. Start by exploring the bustling Chinatown area (Yoawarat) before crossing the Chao Phraya to the more serene and often less visited temples and sites of Thonburi. This trip ride along quiet back roads of this area stopping at the occasional market as you head to the Princess Mother Memorial Park and museum, although small, this is well kept and well worth a visit. Some lesser known temples, the Chao Praya river and a sampling of a local Thai dessert that has it origins from the Portuguese who settled here, Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn) and the Royal Barge Museum are all part of this interesting and varied bike trip.
Duration (approximate): Daily from 08.00 am. - 01.00 pm.

Rommaneenart Park
Romaneenart Park
Romaneenart Park features basketball courts, a playground and a simple open-air gym for weight lifters. It was built on the site of the old city jail. One of its walls and some of the old guard towers have been incorporated into the park. A high amount of fountains keep the park cool in the heat of the concrete jungle. It is the only non-ceremonial park in the centre of the city.
How to get there: Romaneenart Park is on Siriphong Rd., which runs from Wat Suthat down to Pahurat Market in Bangkok's Little India section, next to Chinatown. You can get to the park by a river taxi going to Memorial Bridge pier. Walk via Chakraphet Rd. from there.
Opening Hours: Daily from 08.30 am - 03.30 pm.
